Founded March 28, 2026
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Matthew 28:19
Our Mission
The Society of Peace is an orthodox Roman Catholic society with a single, burning mission: to make Catholics of all nations. We do this by making the Eucharist known to all peoples — for we believe that the Eucharist is the only portal to paradise.
The Eucharist will purify the Church. The Eucharist will unify the Church. When the world encounters the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, hearts are converted, souls are healed, and nations are transformed.
History
March 28, 2026
The Society of Peace was founded on March 28, 2026 by Saul Remi Hernandez — a Cajun Catholic from the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana, and the principal author of The Catholic Steps. The Society was born from a conviction that the greatest gift the Church can offer a broken world is the Eucharist: the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
Drawing on the healing framework of The Catholic Steps — a sacramental path to freedom modeled on the Twelve Steps — the Society of Peace extends that mission outward, from the individual soul to the whole of humanity. Where the Steps heal the person, the Society seeks to heal the nations.
The Society is currently headquartered in the Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio, and welcomes orthodox Roman Catholics from every diocese who share its Eucharistic mission.
Core Mission
The Great Commission calls us to go forth and baptize all nations. The Society of Peace answers that call by bringing the fullness of the Catholic faith — its sacraments, its tradition, and its truth — to every corner of the world.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Our mission is to proclaim the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament to all peoples, so that every soul may encounter the living God.
The Eucharist purifies. When the faithful receive Christ with reverence and devotion, the Church is renewed from within — cleansed of sin, healed of division, and restored to her apostolic beauty.
The Eucharist unifies. One bread, one body — the Blessed Sacrament is the bond of charity that draws all Catholics into a single communion of faith, hope, and love under the successor of Peter.

Ministry
One of the Society's active ministries is direct service to the homeless. We provide Post Office boxes to individuals living without a permanent address, giving them a stable, official mailing address — a foundation of dignity in a world that too often overlooks them.
Financial support is mailed directly to those boxes. Each individual is given a key to their box and made an official designated pickup with the Post Office. This simple act restores something profound: a place in the world, a name on a mailbox, and the knowledge that someone cares.
We believe that every act of charity is an act of evangelization. When we serve the poor, we make the love of Christ visible. And when the love of Christ is made visible, the Eucharist draws near.
What We Believe
The Real Presence
We believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — in the Most Holy Eucharist. This is not symbol. This is not metaphor. This is the living God.
The Only Portal to Paradise
We believe the Eucharist is the only portal to paradise. "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:53) The Blessed Sacrament is the way, and there is no other.
Orthodox Roman Catholicism
We are fully orthodox, fully Roman Catholic, and fully obedient to the Magisterium of the Church. We hold fast to Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the teaching authority of the Pope and the bishops in communion with him.
The Purification of the Church
We believe the Eucharist will purify the Church from within. As the faithful return to Eucharistic adoration, reverent reception of Holy Communion, and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, the Church will be renewed.
The Unity of the Church
We believe the Eucharist will unify the Church. One bread, one body — the Blessed Sacrament is the bond of perfect charity that draws all Catholics into a single communion of faith and love.
